Mental Health Liberation and Anti-Psychiatry Movement Part 2

Mental Health Liberation and Anti-Psychiatry Movement Dr. John Breeding, Ph.D. Psychologist talks about the mental health liberation movement, the anti-psychiatry movement, the movement against psychiatric oppression. Sometimes seen as antipsych or antipsychiary or anti-biological psychiatry. This is a movement made up mostly of ex-mental health consumers and the family members of ex-mental health consumers who feel they have been hurt by psychiatry. These people refer to themselves as …

I have a mother in law. taking a bunch of meds for bipolar and now low thyroid function. Can you recommend a way to do a washout, clean out her system of all meds and find out how she would function without them. Try a natural approach to feeling better, exercise/healthy diet and group therapy. Any suggestions would be wonderful.

Not being a medical doctor, I can’t give medical advice; It’s illegal. I recommend you find a holistic doctor or a clinical nutritionist to help you.

Dr. Bellonzi who I video sometimes has the resources in his clinic to deal with what you talking about. You can find his website in the video descriptions of any of his videos.

Fantastic Dr. Breeding. Well done. how very informative and raw. I am myself a survivor, refused the medication and thank God got away from it all. I am now an activist myself. It is apalling what goes on inside and outside psychiatric institutions. It is rather pass the buck on the part of society to have made these monstrosities. The truth will out…Respect for the video x

    very fascinating

Thanks for this psychetruth, trolls show up at my blog regularly to discredit Dr. Breeding as a you know what. Excellent to have a link to point them to.

I work in mental health as a case manager. I have done this for a year. I have noticed mental health services are directed to those without insurance and basically trap them. I wish a video would be made about this, and how their dignity is stripped as they are talked down to by a psychiatrist that will threaten to take away meds or refuse to see them.

I reckon psychology is fine sometimes for people suffering from mental anguish. But, I truly believe in treating it medically WITHOT DRUGS and with natural supplements, vitamins, herbs orthomolecular, naturopathic, on and on. When someone is having mood problems that are really from an imbalance its a symptom of a disease or condition they have. People with “bipolar” (doesn’t exist) do not have a depakote deficiency. There is no natural depekote in the human body. So instead use natural things.

That is all about you see: finctioning in a society. But, does it matter if the society itself has issues? Let me quote Ivan Illich, a philosopher: “Depression is a healthy reaction to a sick society”; or Schoppenhauer: “Men are by necessity so mad that not being mad at all is another form of madness.” In other words: the problem might lie exactly with the uniformity of ways one can “function” in society. And any transgression is punished (in fact morally) by the unhealthy or insane mark.

i certainly hope for their sakes that those who conduct e.c.t. are qualified as electricians.

look into Risperdal Risperdal Consta, substance known to cause death in otherwise fit & healthy patients that is still being administered in queensland, australia at the very least……

oh, btw…..fluoride has just been introduced in queensland too.

  13. 4abetterfuture says:

sorry, incorrect info in previous posting. the substance is Depo Risperdal Consta***. i’ll learn to proofread one of these days, maybe after i’ve done something about my procrastination…..

  14. 4abetterfuture says:

stay clear of canola too. “canola” is not a word because it doesn’t appear in the scrabble dictionary. it causes macular degeneration at the very least. would you like fries with that?

  15. 4abetterfuture says:

notice i posted new comments each time rather than posting a answer, as replying to one’s self is considered a form of mental illness. ;~)

  16. torturedbyshrinks says:

Anti-psychiatry in my opinion: making sure the shrinks who drug people blind (and all of the antipsychotics have the properties to do this) need to be tried for war crimes, they need to be stripped of their wealth and their assets distributed to their victims. the drug companies must pay for any disability benefits and all drugs used on the patients as a result of all the iatrogenic diseases their drugs caused.

  17. torturedbyshrinks says:

They tell their patients to drop out of college and force them to volunteer. They drug people into 20 hour a day somnolence and then call them bone idle and unmovitiated.. They force people to see therapists who tell them drugs are healthy. They shock people who say they don’t like their therapists. They won’t let you leave the room until you say you like your therapist and that they helped you.

  18. Boolze says:

Breeding, how do you feel about the Church of Scientology’s involvement in the “anty-psychiatry brigade”?

  19. MalleusMaleficarum01 says:

ah, this is what it is. this is scientology folks. i just heard his endorsement of reigion. You are being coaxed by scientology when you agree w/ breeding my friends. be ware

  20. Hermanesau says:

now, i am by no means a proponent of the Church of Scientology.

but, a substantial amount of what breeding articulates is a VERY well founded critique of the established institutions of individual control and social perception.

    your stance is?

  21. missysquark says:

im a psychology student, and unfortunatley dealt with stress via polysubstance abuse. consequently i was sent to a mental hospital. i needed it, fantastic… i was diagnosed as skitzophrenic and prescribed anti-psychotic drugs. the dosage of those drugs made it impossible to do the simplest of tasks (for exmple making a sandwich for myself). i weaned myself off these drugs an life returned to normal. for my own curiousity, i went back to hospital the following year…

  22. missysquark says:

all i said was i need hot food, a shower, and a clean bed. i was met with an involuntary treatment order and a completly different diagnoses, but was prescribed the same antipsychotic, from the same mental institution. life on that drug was warped and weird. again i weaned myself off this drug and life returned to normal. i am not mentally ill. im a reformed drug addict that was mentally ill. antipsychotics nearly ruined my life. screw ur scientology bull… this scenario is really real

  23. h4ck573r says:

I never had a problem with them (psychiatrist), but purely for their contrast to my logical thinking makes me wanna join the Anti-Psychiatry , so based on medical record I am completely normal, and even more intelligent than many others. That said you are probably asking what is my motive to join. I can’t stand looking how idiots hurt others based on “illness”"treatment” which are non existent based on any possible logic. There are many examples of their errors. How do we stop them?

  24. h4ck573r says:

Here is one example of their error (mistake).
lets say a mother takes her child to the psychiatrist, after a few hours of dull the young brain, he comes with a solution, since the kid is not paying attention. But since he is a “doctor” he must prescribe “medicine”.And after a week, the kid has improvement based on psychiatric evaluation. The kid no longer looks at the window, nor anything else, staring at him.He is listening carefully to the psychiatrist now.And his grades are better in school.

  25. h4ck573r says:

The kids brain will not be the same ever again, and idiots will have prejudice one day. He is insane.
Well maybe he will be after a few years of treatment.
And than he has kidney failure, all of the sudden, who would expect that to heppen.
The kids dies at the age of 25.
    Brilliant work.
    “He was a silent guy”.
One cannot fix something if it does not know exactly how it works.
If you cant start your TV, and you hit it and all of the sudden it works. Are you a TV expert than?
